BSc (Hons) Ocean Exploration

BSc (Hons) Ocean Exploration & Surveying

The course studies the physical characteristics of the world's oceans and investigates the practical techniques used to explore the oceans in a sustainable manner. Course content is also directed towards the vocational requirements of graduates seeking to enter the land and hydrographic community operating within both coastal and offshore waters

Prizes are awarded to the most successful graduates:

The Fugro prize goes to the student with the highest overall mark and the Swathe Services prize to the best project (Project module mark).

The CICES local region (South West & South Wales) awards a prize for, 'Improved performance/ work worthy of merit; overcomes challenges in an endeavour'.

The local region of the Hydrographic Society awards a prize to a Best Speaker on their Project work. 

The International Federation of Hydrographic Societies makes an award for the best project or dissertation in competition with National Societies and must be able to attend the next international conference. Just one prize is awarded to one student from either the undergraduate or the postgraduate surveying courses.

The local IMarEst Branch awards a prize to the highest marked group in the module OS101
