AMT Satellite Ocean Colour Imagery:

The Atlantic Meridional Transect (AMT) programme is a NERC funded consortium grant, which will analyse annual and longer term variability in ocean ecology and biogeochemistry within the context of climate change. Six transects of the Atlantic Ocean will be undertaken between 2002 and 2005 to determine the structure and functioning of planktonic ecosystems in relation to physical and atmospheric processes that affect, directly or indirectly, the ocean carbon cycle. A range of new technologies will be applied to the measurement of key biological processes that control the formation and fate of organic matter. The list has been setup to facilitate communication being the AMT consortium and the wider community.  Details of the full AMT programme are available at www.pml.ac.uk/amt/.

The SeaWiFS imagery provided here is only available for research and education and you should also be SeaWiFS Authorised.

We would like to thank the SeaWiFS Project (Code 970.2) and the Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center/Distributed Active Archive Center (Code 902) at the Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD 20771, for the production and distribution of these data, respectively. These activities are sponsored by NASA's Earth Science Enterprise.
